GETTING IN THE REEL WITH JINNA MUTUNE.

 Kibera Film School advanced class with Jinna Mutune,Director of Leo,a story about a Maasai boy achieving his dream against all odds. She was excited with the students' concentration during the Question an Answer session.












Students attentive as Jinna explains how to approach and convince sponsors to have them invest in a project one is planning to work on.













It was a great experience and everyone was motivated having a great film like Leo by produced Kenyans.

BELGIUM-KENYAN EMBASSY AT KIBERA FILM SCHOOL.

 Embassy of the kingdom of Belgium ambassador to Kenya Bart Ouvry,his wife Carine Ouvry,Belgium Counsellor to Kenya Pieter Leenknegt,Hilai and Philopra visited Hot Sun Foundation an organization based in Olympic Kibera supported and funded by Africalia under the Belgium Co-orperation.

The ambasssador also got a chance to speak to the foundations trustees Nathan Collett,Pamela Collette and Mercy Murugi  discussing possible ways of ensuring the project of training youths in film goes on.





Apart from the official attire  the session turned out to be a social interaction between the guests and the film studets each one of them sharing their inspirational stories and more about their career lives as aspiring filmmakers.






Everyone was so excited and had a chance to watch the trailer and the making of Togetherness Supreme a feature film focusing on peace and reconcilliation.

They were so impressed with Hot Sun Foundation program despite it's location in the world's re-known slum Kibera.

They also decided to talk a walk through Kibera Slum and enjoyed the beauty in it,according to them Kibera is so hospitable and busy like any other place.

INTERFILM BERLIN DIRECTOR,CEO VISITS KIBERA FILM SCHOOL.


Inspiring visitation by the interfilm Berlin Director,CEO Heinz Hermanns at Kibera Film School at Hot Sun Foundation offices.The Director,CEO from Germany came to screen short films from the interfilm berlin festival at the sixth edition of the Kenya International Film Festival.

All concentrated in watching the making and the trailer of the feature filmTogetherness Supreme.

THE SIXTH EDITION OF KENYA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AT ALLIANCE FRAINCAISE.


During the sixth edition launch of the Kenya International Film Festival at Alliance Francaise introduce the Slum Film festival a platform for artists and filmmakers from slums like Mathare and kibera to showcase their talents to the world.The platform was spear headed by the Embassy of Spain,Hot Sun Foundation and Slum TV.

CULTURAL DAY OF THE EMBASSY OF SPAIN AT NAIROBI MUSEUM.

Kibera Film School Fresh Classes Begins Monday 8th August 2011

 It has been a busy week for us at the Film School the last week. There had been a lot of activities going on and among them was the interview panel had just sat to begin it's work for selecting the next candidates for the school.




Part of the judges who were interviewing the candidates who are to be the next proud Kibera Film School scholarship program, Wanjiru Kinyanjui,Extreme right and Kevin Machimbo.

 Some of the candidates waiting to get into the interview room. You could tell there was too much tension and anxiety. Don't worry it's just a process of life. It will be fine.

 "Say a little prayer for you". This is what seems to be going through the minds of this two as they anxiously wait for their turn in line.














I want to say that it would be my pleasure to finally announce the names of the successful candidates this week and they will be the face of the next Kibera Film School which commences on August 8th 2011. Congratulations in advance and welcome to this community of a kind.
